Every year as the holidays are upon us, we get wrapped up in the festivities of eating, shopping, and holiday parties knowing full well that on January 1st, we will all be making our “New Year” resolutions to now hit the gym and start the newest diet craze in order to take off those extra pounds we piled on because of our lack of self-control.

Let’s take our spending habits:  We charge what we can’t afford now to create the perfect Holiday experience.  Then once the New Year begins, we’re paying the price – literally – for our unrestrained “spending in the moment.” It can take the whole year to pay off the cost of our holiday spending, just in time for us to fall into that same vicious cycle all over again.

Are you tired of being trapped in this undisciplined pattern of thinking and doing? Instead of planning what your resolutions will be in January, try introducing these “real solutions” into your daily diet of eating, spending, and exercising for the whole month of December.

  1. Set your holiday financial budget for charities, gifts, and parties
  2. Stick to that budget!
  3. Eat a healthy daily diet and save the calorie consumption for your holiday parties.
  4. Go to the gym regularly to stay active and to blow off steam from the stress of the holidays.

Stick to this plan and by January, you’ll already be at the top of your game ready for your best New Year!
