What would you like to put on the blank canvas of your life today? 2020 is here and it’s not only a brand new year, it’s a brand new decade as well! I think we can all agree that now that the holidays are over and we are at the “starting gate” of January, it’s easy to feel that we are “late to the game”. It can get overwhelming thinking about all we want to accomplish by the end of this year.
Here’s a different approach you may want to try: Instead of looking at the whole 12 months at once, try dividing it up into 3-month segments of time. Even though your intentions are well-meaning, a lot can change to slow down your momentum during those 12 months. Three-month increments seem much more achievable.
As you look at the next 3 months, what goals or objectives would you like to complete by the end of that timeframe? Once you pick out your 3-month goals, you can then begin to design weekly as well as daily action steps to help you work towards accomplishing those goals by the end of those 3 months. Once you design your daily and weekly action steps, you can schedule them into your calendar to ensure success. By the time March 31st rolls around, you could be celebrating what you were able to accomplish and then hitting the reset button to start all over again for the next 3 months!
By the end of the year you will be shocked at what you were able to successfully complete. Your blank canvas will now reveal a carefully-crafted portrait of your life.
